Saumi has over 17 years of experience in financial services compliance and governance, social and process compliance, social and environmental sustainability, and corporate law. At Stax, Saumi is responsible for managing the compliance and governance protocol and ensuring all internal operations comply with external regulations.

Prior to Stax, Saumi was the Head of Sustainable Business at Bodyline, an affiliate of MAS Holdings Ltd., where she led the Group Compliance, Legal, and Sustainability Pillars for their facilities in Sri Lanka and India having an employee strength of over 12,000+. Her areas of oversight included social and process compliance, social and environmental sustainability, and legal.

Prior to joining Bodyline, Saumi was Vice President and Head of Compliance for Amba Research (now known as Acuity Knowledge Partners). At Amba Research, she was responsible for the global compliance program and for leading compliance initiatives across all delivery centers.

Saumi is an Attorney-at-Law by profession and has a Master of Business Administration from the University of West London and a Postgraduate Diploma from the International Compliance Association in UK. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Colombo and is a passed Finalist of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK. During her time at the University of Colombo, she was awarded University Colors for representing her University in both rowing and table tennis.
