Jake Bies is a Director at Grant Thornton Stax in the firm’s Boston office, with over seven years of experience advising private equity clients on investment decisions and growth strategy.

Jake specializes in industrial products and services, leading commercial diligence, market assessment, and value creation engagements. His work focuses on developing data-driven insights to help investors evaluate opportunities, understand market dynamics, and identify pathways for growth.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton Stax, Jake was a consultant at Investor Group Services (IGS), where he supported buy and sell-side diligence engagements for private equity clients and their portfolio companies. He started his career in corporate finance, including FP&A and investor relations, at CSX Transportation, a Fortune 500 Class I railroad.

Extracurricular:

Outside of work, Jake enjoys spending time outdoors, both hiking and camping in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and across U.S. national parks out West. When in Boston, he can often be found perfecting his six-year-old (and counting!) sourdough starter for home-baked bread.
