Chen Liu is a Managing Director at Stax's Chicago office. With over a decade of consulting experience, Chen has supported private equity investors on buy-side and sell-side commercial due diligence, including advising companies on corporate and growth strategy.
Chen has led more than 100 engagements within the technology sector, with deep expertise across EdTech, administrative software, and GovTech. In EdTech, Chen’s work covers K–12, higher education, and professional learning platforms. His administrative software experience spans enterprise resource planning (ERP), human resources and human capital management (HR/HCM) solutions, and management-related communications platforms (CRM/CMS). He has also worked extensively in adjacent areas, including workflow automation, back-office operations software, and niche vertical solutions.
Prior to joining Stax, Chen was a member of the Private Equity practice at EY-Parthenon where his primary focus was commercial due diligence.
Chen holds an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
