A leading higher education institution offering British-affiliated degrees in Sri Lanka was interested in building a state-of-the-art campus and expanding its course offerings.
The Client was looking for ‘smart capital’ to fund their growth plans and engaged Stax to formulate an Information Memorandum (IM) and assist in pitching to potential investors.
We conducted several strategy sessions with the management team to gain clarity on their 10-year vision and to understand the type of investor best aligned with their objectives.
We then conducted primary and secondary research to understand the dynamics of the Sri Lankan higher education market and gauge best practices of higher education institutions globally.
This engagement also required financial modeling to arrive at a valuation of the company.
The IM has been shared with the short-listed investors and two bids from PE firms are currently in-progress.
Through our conversations and research, we were able to develop an IM which encapsulated the Client’s phased expansion strategy, growth drivers, and key milestones in achieving the vision for 2025.
Our findings also informed the Client about strategies of global higher education providers, which can be adopted to gain competitive advantage.
We also short-listed ~10 potential investors that best aligned with our Client’s growth plans.
