Services|Multi-Country Engagements

OVERVIEW

Approximately 40% of Stax’s work has a sizeable international component and about 25% of our revenue comes from outside the U.S. Corporate clients and investors rely on Stax for multi-country engagements primarily because we do not claim to already know the answers to their global issues. We do know the right questions to ask however, and the best ways to frame those questions in a given country. Stax gathers fresh information directly for the project at hand, in order to deliver actionable answers that you can trust.

Our insights are derived from substantive field research and internally available data. We build bottom-up market assessments via primary research—reaching out to customers, competitors, channel players and experts— in whatever language necessary. This is supported by exhaustive secondary research and macro analyses, so that you have a complete, fact-driven view that can stand the tests of each particular local market.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

  • Australia
  • BRIC
  • EU
  • North America
  • Southeast Asia

Examples of Engagements:

  • Healthcare. Using the granular understanding of global end market sizes and customer segmentation developed by Stax, a medical device manufacturer substantively adjusted its R&D, marketing, training and sales approach across Europe and the U.S. for fast improvement. Over 12 weeks, Stax analyzed past company records, assessed the competitive landscape, and conducted more than 1,300 interviews in 11 countries to develop a segmentation scheme that was understandable both financially and qualitatively.
  • Industrial, Distribution & Manufacturing. A manufacturer of hi-tech devices used our recommendations to improve product education, messaging, and leveraging of distributor network globally. We conducted over 500 surveys across customers and non-customers in the U.S., France, Italy, China, Korea, Japan, and India to gauge market by geography, industry, and product.
  • Agriculture. A client was able to focus on areas that required additional investment, such as incorporating specific product specifications and attributes, based on our recommendations. Over the course of six weeks, Stax carried out more than 500 interviews in the U.S., Netherlands, France, Germany and the U.K. to assess the potential for a prototype. Key growth areas that would be most penetrable were evaluated through max-diff techniques.
  • Global Services. A services provider looking to expand to the Asia-Pacific needed to quantify the relative market size and best potential entry strategy for several countries, along with an overall regional strategy. Stax delivered a menu of vetted options across several countries—showing relative size and risks, where their brand would be welcome and product would generate most interest, and where to start small and build versus buy. Currently in pursuit.
  • Tech, Media and Telecom. Two leading private equity firms made a multi-billion dollar investment in the technology and devices sector upon Stax’s due diligence. We quantified market adoption rates and penetration outlook for the devices across the U.S., France, Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Chile. We assessed the Target’s alignment with market trends, end-user needs, competitive dynamics and overall growth opportunity moving forward to help them make a more informed decision.
