Our Advanced Analytics Group consists of database specialists, mathematicians and statisticians, and others with strong quantitative or technology backgrounds. They enjoy the challenge of handling large data sets, and generating insights for our clients by analyzing the underlying data, and/or developing complex models to help our clients make strategic or tactical decisions.

Senior Statistical Analyst

Position Overview:

Stax conducts rigorous analysis of data sets both large and small. This data is generated via a mix of creative primary research techniques (e.g., phone surveys, online/web surveys), secondary research sources (e.g., financial filings of public companies) and internal customer databases of our clients. We are seeking individuals who excel at data analysis, and who enjoy the challenge of generating insights from datasets with as few as 50 records to as many as 100,000 records.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and manipulate large datasets and prepare for analysis.
  • Conduct guided and independent analysis on cleaned data in support of projects.
  • Develop suitable models to explain industry structures, economic trends, and competitive dynamics
  • Be able to create complex mathematical models using game theory and advanced statistical techniques.
  • Generate insights from the data and present in relevant charts and graphs to be incorporated into project reports.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in statistics, mathematics, or economics strongly preferred.
  • Prior professional experience in a data analyst role.
  • Highly proficient with Excel, SPSS, STATA and/or other statistical programs.
  • Strong quantitative market research and modeling skills highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in distilling large amounts of data into important relevance. Clarity in communicating and clearly articulating findings and opinions.
