For the past 19 years, Rafi Musher has been leading corporate management consulting engagements and working with investment firm leadership teams to identify profit opportunities and mitigate risks across industries.
Mr. Musher initiated Stax’s investor-related practice in 1996, and remains actively involved in client engagements. Having worked with more than 100 equity sponsors – including LBO, growth equity, long only public, long/short hedge funds – he specializes in identifying fundamental issues for testing, and in building research methodologies that deliver the best answers.
For portfolio operations teams and private equity sponsored company leadership clients, Mr. Musher helps identify and prioritize opportunities that create value through organic growth, operational improvements, or M&A. For corporate clients, he introduces best practices from other industries, brainstorms actionable ideas, and structures engagements in collaboration with clients to deliver results with analytic focus and ease of client implementation.
Thought Leadership
Mr. Musher has advised government agencies and elected officials on issues around energy, health, education, financial incentive structures, and capital markets – engaging and encouraging business to act as “responsible corporate citizens” by delivering on national interests. His views are broad by sector and across global socioeconomic issues – keeping in mind a respect for both history and the speed of today’s changing markets. He is invited regularly to participate in prominent think tank conferences, and leads brainstorming/solution sessions with government and non-profit agencies that focus on finding actionable answers to real world problems.
Mr. Musher, founder and manager of two successful magazines in college, has most recently published articles and comments featured in The Deal, The M&A Journal, Forbes.com, Fortune.Com, TheStreet.com, Public Utility Fortnightly’s Spark and CNN FN.

Philosophically, Mr. Musher is committed to not only doing well, but also doing good. As a firm, Stax has devoted significant time and resources to helping organizations develop sustainable solutions for societal needs that can succeed without major outside funding.
Mr. Musher leads the Stax Development Corporation, which is designed to create joint and independent for-profit ventures that effect sustainable, positive social impact. He has initiated ideas and led Stax’s case teams to analyze situations, identify potential improvements, and provide logistical and financial support in the energy independence, education, and health care sectors. He is also founder and CEO of Israel & Co.—a nascent non-profit that aims to drive positive education and engagement with Israel by getting influential, high value segments of the population, both Jewish and non-Jewish, to visit Israel.
Mr. Musher holds a B.S. in Communications and Advertising from Boston University. He is Chairman of the Board at the Bronx Lab School, a public high school in New York City, and serves on the Board of BeneStream Inc., which works to ensure that employees receive government benefits to which they are entitled.
