Paul Edwards is a Managing Director at Stax, Inc. where he leads the firm’s private equity practice. He directs client engagements on behalf of major corporations, upper and upper middle market funds and their portfolio companies.
For more than a decade, Edwards has lead projects at Stax, bringing together a network of resources from various areas of expertise throughout the firm. He supports nearly 50 transactions and growth-strategy engagements annually for the world’s largest private equity firms and their portfolio companies across five continents. Edwards also specializes in providing data-driven analysis to support investment strategies across multiple business sectors including industrial/manufacturing, agriculture, education, technology, and transportation/logistics.
Prior to joining Stax, Edwards was a consultant for STS, providing strategic research and industry analysis of the transportation, aviation, homeland security and defense markets on behalf of global corporate clients and government departments across Europe and the U.S.
Edwards is the founder of BtG UK, a global education/cultural consulting company serving more than one million young people. In this role Edwards designed and implemented product development and marketing strategies to engage more than 1,000 high schools and universities across the UK in just 12 months.
Earlier in his career, Edwards held senior leadership positions with the UK Department of Education, StudySmart, Inc. and the National Union of Students (UK) where he chaired the executive committee and oversaw the organization’s financial and strategic management.
A published thought leader in the Journal of Private Equity, Edwards holds an M.B.A. from the European School of Business Management (UK), and a B.S. in Material Science and Industrial Management from the University of Wales (Swansea).
